She earned a Bachelor of Arts in English from the University of Northern Colorado and a Master of Arts in English with an emphasis in Creative Nonfiction Writing from Colorado State University. Her thesis consisted of a collection of memoir and personal essays that explored the relationship between self, place, and community. Before working at the College of Liberal Arts Academic Support Center, she worked as an online Course Developer at OnlinePlus. She also has three years of tutoring experience and greatly enjoys working with students one-on-one in order to support them in achieving their academic, career, and personal goals.

Outside of work, Neely enjoys seeing live music, practicing yoga, traveling, and reading about new age metaphysics. She is also Cat Mom to Kuma, a two-year-old Bengal who loves to talk, and Dog Mom to Masha, a Pitbull puppy. She most values spending time with her friends, regardless of the activity.
