Hi! I'm Evan, a first-year philosophy MA student.

As an undergrad I studied chemical engineering and environmental biology at WashU in St. Louis, before catching a bad case of the philosophy bug (for which I have yet to find a cure). This has manifested symptomatically as a persistent and stubborn interest in the philosophy of mind, cognitive science, metaphysics, and the intersection of all these areas with certain forms of Eastern/Buddhist philosophy. I'm particularly interested in questions relating to the nature and function of consciousness, the problem of perception (leave it to philosophers to turn everything we hold dear into a problem), embodied cognition, and wisdom.

In my free time you can find me playing chess and soccer, as well as doing more stereotypically Colorado things like trail running, hiking, camping, etc.
