Biography

Hi. Name's Nicholas. I'm a first year in the program here. I hail from Kansas. I did my undergrad at Lake Forest College in Illinois where I majored in Philosophy and Religion.

I've taken up studies in various directions. Recently, I've been studying virtue ethics and epistemology in order to think about virtue as a skill and its relation to wisdom and understanding. I wrote my undergraduate thesis on Martin Luther's influence on Kierkegaard's philosophy, and I have an abiding interest in questions about religious disagreement and exclusivism. I have historical interests in Nietzsche's moral philosophy and Hegel's political philosophy. But I'm happy to chat about anything from Wittgenstein's picture theory of meaning to everyday aesthetics! I'm excited to hunker down, learn, and produce some worthwhile philosophy.

I ain't so sure what's going on with me otherwise... Let's see. I like turkey sandwiches. I love hanging out with friends and my girlfriend. Catch me yapping at any function, my friend, or lifting weights at the rec. Always happy to chat.
