Joshua Shepherd will present “The Value of Consciousness: Implications for Moral Status” on Wednesday, February 20th at 4:30 pm in Eddy Hall, room 200. All are invited to attend.

Joshua Shepherd (MA, 2009) does work in the philosophy of mind and action, and in practical ethics. After a Master’s degree at CSU and a PhD from Florida State, he went to the University of Oxford, where he worked as a research fellow with the Uehiro Centre for Practical Ethics. He is currently an assistant professor at Carleton University and a research professor at the University of Barcelona where he directs the project, “Rethinking Conscious Agency,” funded by the European Research Council.
